Configuring VPN0 & VPN512 Templates for vEdges

This SD-WAN lab practical will show you how to configure VPN0 & VPN512 templates for vEdges. You can practice along with this practical using our SD-WAN virtual lab.

Topology

Tasks 

1. Configure the VPN 0 template with the following parameters on vManage to be used by all vEdge cloud devices 

Template Name: BR-VE-VPN-VPN0  

Description: BR-VE-VPN-VPN0-Description 

● VPN-> Global: 0  

● Name-> Global: Transport VPN  

2. Configure a static route on VPN 0 towards the internet router 

● Prefix -> Global: 0.0.0.0/0  

● Next Hop -> Device Specific 

3. Configure the VPN 512 template with the following parameters on vManage to be used by all vEdge cloud devices 

Template Name: BR-VE-VPN-VPN512  

Description: BR-VE-VPN-VPN512-Description  

● VPN -> Global: 512  

● Name -> Global: MGMT VPN

Configuration and Verification 

Featured Templated – VPN0 

First configure feature template for VPN0. Go to vManage and navigate to Configuration-> Templates-> Feature and then click on Add Templates

Here you can select the device type from the list on the left pannel, In our case select vEdge cloud as device type and on the right panel choose VPN

On the next window fill the column for Template Name and Description

Now select the Basic Configuration and filled the VPN number and Name as per required parameters in the task

Now click on IPv4 Route and click on new IPv4 route fill the values of default route and next hop. Click on Save to continue

VPN0 feature template is created now

Featured Templated - VPN512 

Nonfigure feature template for VPN512. Go to vManage and navigate to Configuration-> Templates-> Feature and then click on Add Templates

Here you can select the device type from the list on the left pannel, In our case select vEdge cloud as device type and on the right panel choose VPN

On the next window fill the column for Template Name and Description
