Configuring SYSTEM and BANNER Feature Template

«How to Initialize all vEdges via CLI

This SD-WAN lab practical will show you how to configure SYSTEM and BANNER feature template. You can practice along with this practical using our SD-WAN virtual lab.

Topology

Tasks 

1. Configure the SYSTEM template with the following parameters on vManage to be used by all vEdge cloud devices 

● Template Name: VE-System  

 Description: VE-System-Description  

 Site ID: Device Specific  

 System IP: Device Specific  

 Hostname: Device Specific  

 Timezone: Global: Asia/kolkata  

 Console Baud Rate: 9600 

2. Configure the BANNER template with the following parameters on vManage to be used by all vEdge cloud devices 

 Template Name: VE-Banner  

 Description: VE-Banner-Description 

 Login Banner: UniNets SDWANLAB Authorized Users Only!!!  

 MOTD: Welcome To UniNets SDWANLAB!!

Configuration and Verification 

First configure SYSTEM feature template for vEdge Cloud Devices. Go to vManage and navigate to Configuration-> Templates-> Feature and then click on Add Templates

Here you can select the device type from the list on the left panel, In our case select vEdge cloud as device type and on the right panel choose system as we are going to configure SYSTEM Feature template for vEdges cloud routers

On the next window fill the column for Template Name and Description

Now select the Basic Configuration and filled the required parameters as per task

Site ID, System ID and hostname are the default value is Device Specific, here you may just select the Device Specific

For specifying the timezone first select Global and then select the timezone, in our case Asia/Kolkata

Hostname is also device specific, and select the baud rate as per the task requirement

Now click on Save to continue

Now configure BANNER feature template for vEdge Cloud Devices. Go to vManage and navigate to Configuration-> Templates-> Feature and then click on Add Templates

Here you can select the device type from the list on the left panel, In our case select vEdge cloud as device type and on the right panel scroll down and go to the section “Other Templates” wherein select BANNER

Fill the appropriate values of Template Name and Description as per the task requirements

Fill the other values under Basic configuration, first select Global and then write you values and Click on Save to continue

Banner has also configured for vEdge Devices
